Two days sightseeing tour in Pondicherry Details:
Day 1:
We will start on day 1 by going to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Sri Aurobindo Ashram was established in 1926 by Sri Aurobindo and is well-liked by those seeking spirituality.
We will then proceed to the Temple of Manakula Vinayagar. Lord Ganesha is the object of devotion at the historic temple.
Before we go to the Notre Dame des Anges Church, you can learn more about the history of the Pondicherry at the Pondicherry Museum. The Notre Dame des Anges Church (Église de Notre-Dame des Anges), also called Our Lady of Angels Church, is a medieval Roman Catholic church. The church was built in 1855 under Napoleon III’s sponsorship and features Greco-Roman architecture created by architect Louis Guerre. It is a well-known landmark facing the Bay of Bengal because of its unique pastel pink façade, twin bell towers, and calm interiors.
The next destination is a well-known Roman Catholic church for its spiritual significance and spectacular Neo-Gothic architecture. It is the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Pondicherry. Built between 1902 and 1907 by French missionaries under the design of Rev. Fr. Telesphore Welter, this historic building is situated on South Boulevard next to the train station. On December 17, 1907, it was dedicated, and in 2011, it was promoted to the rank of minor basilica.
Pondicherry’s Cluny embroidered is a distinctive and culturally rich hand-embroidered technique that captures the spirit of French colonialism. The Cluny Embroidery Centre, a nonprofit organization led by Catholic nuns, is where it is conducted. The centre, which is housed in a historic structure, uses expert stitching to empower impoverished women via training and employment. The stitching is distinguished by delicate, intricate motifs produced with grace and precision, frequently inspired by lace or flowers.
About 8 kilometres south of the heart of Pondicherry, next to Chunnambar Boat House, is Paradise Beach, a peaceful beachside hideaway. This remote beach provides a tranquil getaway from the bustle of the city and is only reachable by a picturesque boat trip through backwaters lined with coconut trees.
In Puducherry, India, Rock Beach—also called Promenade Beach or Pondicherry Beach—is a well-known beach. From the War Memorial to Dupleix Park on Goubert Avenue, it stretches about 1.5 kilometres along the Bay of Bengal.

Day 2:
In 1968, Mira Alfassa (The Mother) established Auroville, an experimental community close to Pondicherry, India, with the help of Sri Aurobindo’s teachings. It seeks to become a global metropolis where individuals from all nations coexist peacefully and harmoniously, overcoming national borders, political differences, and religious beliefs. Auroville encourages community-based development, spiritual development, and sustainable living.
A thriving cultural centre devoted to conserving and advancing India’s traditional arts and crafts is the Art and Craft Village in Pondicherry, which is located along the Chunnambar backwaters close to Murungapakkam. This 4-acre village, which the Pondicherry Tourism Department created, has 24 artist booths where guests may watch live demonstrations of crafts like handloom weaving, ceramics, terracotta, and coconut shell carvings.
Eden Beach is the first beach in the Union Territory to be awarded the coveted Blue Flag designation by the Foundation for Environment Education (FEE), Denmark; Eden Beach in Puducherry is a calm and environmentally conscious coastal resort. It provides a peaceful haven with its immaculate white sands and crystal-clear seas and is located in Chinna Veerampattinam, about 7 km from White Town.
